Lunar Eclipse

For Logroño's International Architecture and Design Festival-Concéntrico Competition

Is it possible to establish a new order for the original historical stage and its surrounding space? Can a new stage serve as a medium for dialogue between the past and the present? This project provides an innovative response.

We propose replicating the semicircular shape of the historic stage. The new stage, named "Luna," consists of two black semicircles. Its form and color are inspired by a dramatic narrative—while the old music pavilion symbolizes the sun, the new stage represents the moon. At night, they will create a stunning "eclipse" for the public.

The new stage is minimalist, while the old one is more ornamental. It fosters a dialogue between modern and classical elements. Together, the sun and moon coexist within the same view—one light, one dark—complementing and enhancing each other.
